We know that the ceiling fan rotates anticlockwise. But the table fans rotate clockwise. The are both fans of the same type. Why the difference ?

Ceiling fans have a motor (rotor) in the center. The fan has a fixed part around the fan. Inside it there is armature. The armature is connected to the AC power supply. Magnetic field is created by the alternating current in this armature. Due to the electromagnetic force motor in the center rotates.

In table fans it is exactly an opposite effect.  The motor is the fixed part around the armature in the center.  Since the motor is fixed to the base, it cannot rotate. Due to that, an equal and opposite force on the armature makes it to rotate. So it rotates in the opposite direction, ie., clockwise direction.

the dc fan rotates anticlockwise because of the dc current that every half rotation it's armature changes.

but in ac fan it does not happend
