Why does the galvanometer deflect in the opposite direction?

The needle of galvanometer deflects in the direction of flow of current...so if current flows in an opposite direction, the galvanometer will deflect in the opposite direction (in the direction of the flow of current)..

The galvanometer shows deflection in opposite direction because when current flows in opposite direction.
