Answer :
In the short story 'A Shady Plot' by Elsie Brown, the ghost says,"it is all your fault." The narrator's wife Lavinia had organized a ouija party in the house. The narrator was sent to the ouija party with the sole purpose of persuading the people to stop the use of the Ouija board in exchange for the ghost's help in writing his story. The ghost, Helen, was busy answering the questions asked.
The ghost started asking about the narrator from different ouija boards. The narrator could help but give a sly smile due to his twitching problem which made his wife and other women from the book club feel that he had been cheating on his wife. As a result, his wife became upset. The narrator then tried to blame it on the ghost who said that it was his own fault as he did not adhere to his promise.
