.The horse shakes his harness bells to ask if there is some mistakes in stopping by the woods in that snowy evening. It indicates that it was a regular journey for them but they never stopped there before that day.

.The horse thinks it is "queer" or odd to stop in the middle of the woods because it seems his owner never does this. ... The horse may also be accustomed to stopping at the lake for some water. This narrator is stopping in the middle of nowhere, from the horse's perspective.

.Apart from the sound of his horse's harness bell, the poet hears the sound of the sweeping wind and falling snow flakes. The fact that the speaker mentions hearing the sound of the snow fall indicates how quiet the forest is on that snowy day. The sounds heard by the speaker are sounds of nature.

.The poet is upset and sitting under the hemlock tree. Suddenly a crow sitting on the tree shakes the tree and the fine particles of snow from tree falls on the poet. The soft and cold touch of snow changes the poet's mood from sad to happy. He starts feeling soothed and refresh.

.In saying that he has promises to keep, the poet is saying, in effect, that he has responsibilities to other people and cannot indulge himself by remaining longer to look at the beautiful woods filling up with snow. Robert Frost made his poetry dramatic.
