ANSWER:-

The image in plane mirror suffers lateral inversion because the left side of the mirror appears the right of the image and vice- versa, it shows lateral inversion.

The reason is that the light rays which usually comes from the object get reflected from the plane mirror and then it reaches our eyes but the human brain thinks that the reflected ray is coming from inside the mirror.

Hence the object seems laterally inverted
