The increased level of nutrients in the water affects the survival of aquatic organisms because dissolved oxygen is consumed by the plants and algae. Due to this there is deficiency of dissolved oxygen in the animal life

The increased level of nutrients in water helps aquatic animals in their survival because dissolved oxygen is taken in by algae and many types of plants.

Micro-organisms and plants of many types benefit from the same and aquatic life is held together in a proper way to a large extent.

Because of this reason, there is generally a lack of dissolved oxygen for all types of animals that live in it.

Answer:

Increased level of nutrients in the water affect the survival of aquatic organisms as these act as nutrients for algae to flourish and once these algae die, they serve as food for decomposers like bacteria and a huge amount of oxygen in water body gets used up. This results in decrease in the oxygen level, which may kill aquatic organisms.
