The "Indian constitution" needs to be "amended" quite "regularly" to keep it updated. As it is rightly said, change is the only constant, the constitution kept in mind to provide provisions to change certain parts of the constitution when the need arises. These changes were called "constitutional amendments". Also since the constitution is a lengthy and detailed document so amendments need to be done to meet with the needs of a developing country.
