Lamp Black is the softest form of carbon. It is prepared by burning petroleum or kerosene in a limited supply of air. Its fine variety is obtained by burning oil, tar, kerosene oil, resins etc. The soot produced is deposits on cold surface. This soot is called lamp black. It is used for making printers ink and shoe polish. Kajal is an Indian name for Kohl. Kohl is essentially made from soot of lamp black that is mixed with other natural ingredients.
