Answer:

Is the extreme tattering of banana leaves an accidental result of wind damage, or is it a significant adaptive characteristic of the banana family? Most who have visited tropical climates have noticed that the leaves of the banana family (Musaceae) are shredded to the point that it is hard to imagine that no serious damage has been done to the leaf.

Answer:

Mango leaves does not tear on heavy wind while banana leaves tear.

Explanation:

  • The banana leaves do not have branching in the veins.
  • They are mainly photosynthetic plants as the temperature for them is more favourable.
  • Their leaf blades are thin. They are parallel venation.
  • But, mango trees are tap rooted and cultivated through rip cultivation, they root deep by mottled layer formation.
  • These layers are strong and do not grow in size.
  • Deep ploughing technique is carried forward to make it stronger. Thus they do not tear on heavy wind blows.
