Why does the level of water not change when sugar is dissloved in it?

Water is a liquid. In liquid state, the molecules are pretty far. This creates larger intermolecular spaces. Sugar molecules occupy those spaces resulting in no change of level of water. This process is also known as dissolution.

This is because when the sugar is mixed with water it’s particles become very small and enter the space between the water particles therefore the level of water doesn’t change
