Every month before ovulation the lining of uterus becomes thick and spongy due to the actions of progesterone to provide a protective lining for the development of embroy after fertilisation. Every month the uterus is prepared for the protection of uterus . This thick and spongy lining of uterus breaks and comes down with blood during the process called menstruation. ........✌✌✌
