The lost child lose interest in the things he wanted earlier because earlier when he wanted those things he had the most beautiful and important people in his life with him accompanying him.....But later when he got lost he had no parents,he became afraid and confused of the whirlpool of the fair......But when the stranger offered him the same things he wanted earlier he became less interested in them.....and he became totally lost for finding his dear parents.....It's actually applicable for all children.....when we have parents we are happy but without parents we all feel lonely somewhere within us.....

ANSWER ;-))
The lost child loses interest in the things that he had wanted earlier because he was panic stricken on being separated from his parents. All he wanted was to be united with them. All the things that attracted him in the fair no longer appeal to him and now the only thing that matters is finding his parents.
