Why does the medium become acidic in mouth. what is the ill effect of this mediun. how can this be prevented

The medium in the mouth becomes acidic ,when we take food, because foods are of many kinds & when we take in acidic ones the medium of our mouth becomes acidic. The food which remains in between our teeths helps in growth of bacteria. this bacteria secrets certain acids which even dissolves the hardest know substance in our body i.e. the enamel which is the ill effect. this ill effect can be prevented by brushing your teeth regularly with toothpaste which is basic in nature, speciaaly after having sweet food items.

Bacteria present in the mouth produce acids by degradation of sugar and food particles remaining in the mouth after eating due to which pH of the mouth becomes lower than 5.5.

It causes tooth decay, tooth enamel gets corroded.

It can be prevented by using tooth paste which is basic in nature.
