Why does the Mercury does not rise or fall in a clinical thermometer when taken out of the mouth .

because of kink as when you see laboratory thermometer the mercury fall or rise rapidly as there is no kink

because the thermometer contain kink that prevent the back flow of mercury.Therefore we can read it .
