why does the metal only conduct the electricity?

because metals are good conductors of electricity.
because metal atom have outermost electrons which are not tied ta any one atom,these electron can move freely in the metal
therefore metals only conduct electricity

Metals are good conductors of electricity coz of the presence of free electrons. They can easily loose electrons and become ions. But there is an exception ie graphite, being a non metal is also a very good conductor of electricity.
