Heya mate, Here is ur answer

The Retina of our eye has thousand numbers of Rod and cones cells.

We can see any object in the darkness of night because of rod cells . But these cells are only limited to vision in dark. They cannot tell us about the colour of any object. Thus, the object that we see at night appear to be of black colour. An owl has large number of rod cells. This is why it is able to see very sharply at night.

Whereas the cones cells work properly at day time. They help us view objects clearly during day. These are also effective on colours. This is why we are able to see colours during day.
