Why does the ozone act as a powerful oxidizing agent?

O3 being endothermic compound readily decomposes on heating to give dioxygen nascent oxygen. O3 O2 + O (nascent oxygen) Since nascent oxygen is very reactive, therefore, O3 acts as a powerful oxidising agent.
