The poet in the poem '' the snake '' cause his human education, because his inner education told him to kill the snake. He didn't do so, but at last when it was his turn to fill his pitcher and also when the snake was leaving (half into the earth) he threw a log(stick) over it.

Explanation:the poet was filled with regeret as he had done a cruel ,vulgar act to the snake who had come to seek his hospitality .he hated himself and the education which persuaded him to do and to act in such a mean manner
