The answer goes like this :-
The poet in the poem '' the snake '' cause his human education, because his inner education told him to kill the snake. He didn't do so, but at last when it was his turn to fill his pitcher and also when the snake was leaving (half into the earth) he threw a log(stick) over it.

the poet DH Laurence cursed human education because his voice of education said that snake is poisonous and it must be killed. and so he threw the log at the snake.
