My mother at sixty six is an extremely beautiful poem which describes the feeling and emotions of the poet towards her ageing mother.

The poet had the fear of losing her old mother because she was growing old and it was her childhood fear too. While she was going to the airport and was about to part her way from her mother she started smiling in a hope to see her mother again.

In a way, she was smiling outside to hide her emotions in hope to see her mother again.
