The poet welcomes the west wind because it reminds him of his homeland,the west wind brings to the poet the memories of cool green corn,rabbits running among the grass,air like wine,apple orchids,white may,etc.
Meanings:
1).corn-grass
2).may-hawthorn blossom which has white,pink and red flowers.
