it is due to the buoyancy that the apparent weight decreases so to show it on the scale of the spring balance it moves up
For this u need to know that buoyancy acts opposite to gravity and
the spring balance is calliberated with increasing magnitude from top to bottom so when the pointer goes up Iy shows decrease in weight
