The post master sent the money to Lencho so that his faith in god doesn't gets hurt. He signed the letter as god so that Lencho can believe that the letter was from god himself.

The postmaster had sent the money to Lencho as he didn't wanted to shatter his faith in god. Lencho had a very strong belief in god and the postmaster was impressed by the faith in god.
He signed the letter with "God" as we wanted Lencho to believe that the letter was really sent by God himself.
