During Summer season sun apparently moves northward direction. Due to this movement temperature rises at a particular place which is called local heating which causes conventional rising of air thereby causing thunderstorm. This is called Pre-Monsoon Showers. This occurs before monsoon season i.e. summer

"Pre-monsoonal rains are the rains which occur before the rainy monsoon starts. This pre-monsoonal rains are also known as mango-shower.
Usually, this pre-monsoonal rains occurs due to the symbol of storm in Bay of Bengal region.
In India, these pre-monsoonal rain occurs in the ending of April and most probably the arrival of this pre-monsoonal rain is not expected. Sometimes, the mango showers may not arrive during this period."
