Why does the rainfall decreases from the east to the west in north indian?

Rainfall decrease from east to west in northern Indian because of the progressive decrease in humidity of the winds of the bay of Bengal branch move further and further island they exhaust most of the moisture they carry along with them ........
hope it help you....
North India as well as most Indian states receive rain from the South west monsoon winds. As these winds are divided into two branches - the Arabian sea branch and the Bay of Bengal branch - by the peninsular shape of India, the Arabian sea branch of South west monsoon contains more moisture than the the Bay of Bengal branch( Approximately 3 times more). The Arabian sea branch brings rain to eastern parts of north india while the bay of bengal branch gives rain to the western parts of north india. So rainfall decreases from east to west.
