The skin of our finger shrinks due to process called osmosis because detergent solution is a hypotonic solution and osmosis take place and water transfers out from our finger cells to the solution to maintain the balance.

Answer:

Clothes are washed with soap or detergent solution. The solution is hypertonic as compared to osmotic concentration of our skin cells. The washing solution, therefore, results in exosmosis in the skin cells that come in contact with it for some time. Due to this reason, the skin over the fingers shrinks while washing clothes for a long time.
