Our skin is porous and behaves as a semi permiable membrane. When we wash clothesour hands are exposed to water for a long timeOur hands behave as hypertonic solution and the outside of our hands behave as hypotonic solution. ... The water is not entering your hands, it actually leaves them and hence, they shrink.

UNIVERSELOVER: Bro I have a question.... The water is present in high concentration outside and in low concentration inside. so why exosmosis happens??

The skin of our finger shrink not only in the case of washing clothes but whenever there is water in our fingers for a long time.It happens as water is a liquid and it starts to get in and thereby shrinks the skin
