when the cell isimmersed in a hypertonic solution, water diffuse out of the cells by osmosis (diffusion of water across semi permeable membrane), due to lower concentration of water outside the ceil. As a result, the cellshrinks. ... During washing of clothes, exosmosis takes place in the skin cells.

Heyaaaaa.......
Here's your ans.....
___________________________
When we wash clothes or when we put our hand in contact of water it shrinks because diffusion/osmosis takes place...
The concentration of water is much more inside our cells than outside the cell so the water molecules moves outside the cell and as a result our skin shrinks....
