Sky is blue because the molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light, when we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight

Anonymous: you are welcome
Anonymous: my pleasure
Anonymous: please can you tell why is blue light scattered during day
Anonymous: in the case of VIBGYOR the violet light scatters more because it has more wavelength but red light scatters less because it has less wavelength
Anonymous: that is y blue scatters more light
Anonymous: also u can clear ur doubt by this:
Anonymous: sky appears blue in colour Bec. of the scattering and dispersion of light by the atmospheric molecules. the light gets incident on these particles, sunlight gets scattered . As the blue colour has lowest wavelength it gets scattered a lot and red colour having the highest wavelength the lowest . So due to large scattering of blue colour the most it appears in the sky and make it look of blue colour
Anonymous: hope its help
