olour of soil varies as it depends on the material forming it. as we all learn in general geology back in the highschool, each part of the world are composed by vastly different rock formation and climate, hence different thing will happen in each area. like in some part of the US, they have mostly sandy soil due to most of the area are arid and have low humidity, while in South East Asia, we have mostly clay and peat soil due to high rainfall and humidity, hence the erosion may be significantly higher here.
