The television is an idiotic thing as:
1 ) It does not help us in any creative thinking.
2 ) It is if no use to the humans.
3 ) It does not help us build our logic,rather it keeps showing the already set things.

Sometimes it act an idiot thing because if you are watching TV everday than it will addict you to watch tv and you will loose concentration. But some times its useful as you get knowledge from watching news
