Why does the stability of the hydrides decreases as we move down the group ?

As we move down the group the size of atom increases and ionisation potential decrease and the electrons are easily available. The hydrogen atoms from longer bonds with the elements which are present down the group 1 and longer the bond weaker it is. So the stability of the hydrides decreases as we move down the group.
