The stain of curry on a white cloth turns reddish brown when soap is rubbed on it because curry contains turmeric which is a indicator and soap is basic in nature. So, soap is reacting on curry (turmeric) which turns reddish brown in colour.
When the white cloth is washed in water then it turns yellow because water is neutral and the curry contains turmeric which is a indicator. The water turns turmeric back to yellow.
Hope it helps...

Answer :-
⇒ A stain of curry on white cloth becomes reddish brown when soap is rubbed because curry contain turmeric which is a natural indicator whereas soap is basic in nature. when turmeric react with soap it turn into reddish brown.
⇒ When it is washed in water it turns yellow because when turmeric comes in contact with water which is neutral it becomes very dilute and reactions stops.
