because of the concept scattering of light in which red light with maximum wavelength doesn't scatter and this is because of the atmosphere which allows this to happen hence this cannot be observed by the astronaut on the moon where there is no atmosphere

✨The sun appears to be red in the early morning because light from the sun from the horizon passes through the thicker layers of the atmosphere and covers longer distance before reaching our eyes. Most of the blue light and the waves which are of shorter length are scattered away by the particles. The red light( longer wavelength) reaches our eyes giving the reddish appearance of the sun. ✨
