why does the sun appear to rise in the east?​

It appears to rise and set because of the Earth's rotation on its axis. It makes one complete turn every 24 hours. It turns toward the east. As the Earth rotates toward the east, it looks like the sun is moving west.

The sun rises from the east and sets in the west. Sunrise and sunset occurs at different times at different places. This is because the earth rotates from west to east and therefore, people in the east can we the sun earlier than those in the west. Had the earth been flat, the sunrise had sunset would have been occurred at the same time all over the world.
