Hi,

Your answer is :

During sunrise and sunset, the rays have to travel a larger part of the atmosphere because they are very close to the horizon. Therefore, light other than red is mostly scattered away. Most of the red light, which is the least scattered, enters our eyes. Hence, the sun and the sky appear red.

Hoping it helps

Hey !!

During sunset or sunrise, the sun is just above the horizon, the blue colour gets scattered most by the atmosphere molecules while red light gets scattered least, hence sun appears red.

REASON :- Scattering intensity I ∝ 1 / λ⁴ and λb << λr.

Thus, the sun appears red due to least scattering of red light as it has longest wavelength.

Good luck !!
