Answers
This season is called as retreating monsoon season.
India recieves rainfall because of southwest and northeast trade winds.
NE Monsoon Winds terminate towards the eastern coast.
Answer:
Explanation:The rainfall in India is mainly caused by South west monsoon i.e. the winds blowing over south west region near equator moves towards Indian peninsula due to fall of pressure in the Indian Subcontinent .
When this monsoon arrives at the southern most point of India then it gets devided into 2 branches namely Arabian sea branch : collecting addition moisture over Arabian sea and rains over the windward side ( the side of mountain on which the moisture carrying wind strikes and causes rain ... The other side received dry wind and hence does not receive any rainfall ) of the western Ghats in the States of Kerela , Tamil Nadu , Maharashtra , MP then moving parallel of Aravallis .
The other branch moves over Bay of Bengal and causes rain in North east India .
Now the situation is Tamil Nadu is on the Leeward side of Western Ghats , Nilgiri hills , Cardomom hills , so it recieves no rainfall from South West monsoon as the winds either drop their moisture striking the mountains of windward side or are deleted right to move over boundaries of Tamil Nadu to move towards North East India .
But as Monsoon is the seasonal reversal of wind . After the winds have dropped all of its moisture then the pressure of land turns high a bit than sea , so the winds start moving from land to sea in the form of North - East Monsoon ( source is the name )
and collects small amount of moisture from bay of bengal and causes rainfall in the month of November or December as this time Tamil Nadu falls on the Windward side
