When we move to high altitude the atmospheric pressure decreses. We know that pressure is directly propositional to temperature that's why temperature decreases.

The temperature will decrease with the increase in height because:

• The atmospheric pressure will fall that will directly decrease the temperature.

• The concentration of the greenhouse gases will decrease which will decrease the temperature.

• Carbon dioxide and water vapour will increase sharply as we will move upward which will result in the decrement of the capacity of heat absorption.

Hope it helps..
