as we go underground temperature increases , going undergroung means going near to the mantle and the core . the mantle and core are in molten stage which can even melt the tectonics . as these layers have more pressure underground they release high value of temperature . hence the temperature increases as we go underground

When we go under the ground we comes nearer to the Earth's core which is in the form of Lava and its temperature is above 4000 degree Celsius and it releases the heat every time . Therefore the temperature increases
