why does the temperature not change when ice melts to form water

when ice melts the heat energy is used to break the bond within the particles of ice . The temperature doesn't changes until the total ice gets converted into water.

Because the heat that we use to melt the ice that heat was latent heat that used to break the space between ice molecules that's why the heat not warm the water
