Why does the temperature of a substance remain constant during the melting point or

boiling point?​

That is because when it reaches the boiling point or melting point , the substance starts changing into other state , for eg : water when reaches 100 C it starts melting ie changing it's state so the temperature at that moment remains constant .

Because it should overcome the force of attraction.
