When the heat is applied to change the state of matter , the matter takes up the heat to increase Kinetic Energy and overcome the force of attraction. When the maximum level of temperature is reached , the container in which it is heated starts taking up the heat to change the state of matter. This is called as Latent Heat of Fusion.
