why does the temperature remain constant during melting of ice though heat is being supplied continuously?​

temperature is random energy per unit molecule i.e .if temperature increases the energy of molecules increases ....during melting the heat supplied is not used in increasing the energy of molecules rather heat supplied helps in breaking of bonds , hence no rise in temperature is observed
