During the melting of ice, the temperature remains constant even though the supply of heat is in continuous manner because the supply of temperature will change “the state of matter” only does not cause any temperature change i.e., increasing or decreasing of temperature. The ice particles are used by the heat and they are vibrating fast and the attraction forces are broken and it becomes liquid. This is the reason for the temperature remains constant when the ice is melting while continuous amount of heat is applied.
