why does the temperature remain constant during the melting of ice even though heat is supplied continuously.

This is because this temperature is the melting point of ice And the temperature changes if the ice completely melts.

Because ice is a form of solid when we give heat to it heat spend to transferm solid to liquid so temperature is constant
