Hello friend,
there is a term called latent heat of vaporization and it means the amount heat required to convert unit mass of liquid into its vapor state without change in its temperature called is latent heat of vaporization
So the extra heat generated after the liquid starts boiling is utilized to overcome the forces of attraction of the molecules of the liquid.
Hope it helped!!!
