Answer: The temperature remains the same during melting of ice because the heat energy absorbed is used up in overcoming the force of attraction between the particles to go into the liquid state. The heat absorbed is known as the latent heat of fusion.

✔So, until all the ice has melted, the heat absorbed does not raise the temperature of the ice-water mixture.
