Why does the temprature at solid remamin constent even though we lantinue heating .where does that heat go.

hey !!! the temperature does not change because the temperature will be used by the solid to change its state and the heat gets hidden which is also call as latent heat means hidden heat. ..hope u understand. ..please mark my answer as brainleist

we know that in solids particles are closely packed with each other with strong bonds. The heat that we supply to solid gets absorbed by the particles. After absorbing this energy the particles start to vibrate. when more energy is supplied the particles start to vibrate more and ultimately the overcome the interatomic forces and bonds break and particles become free and they turn into liquid.. So the heat that we supply is absorbed by particles and is called the latent heat..
