Why does the temprature increase as we go down underground

Because the metallic core is hotter than the surface of the sun and is very slowly cooling. Temperature increases due to the gas and pressure present inside the surface of earth. The temperature increases because we go near to the core of the earth .

Earth's core has temperature of 6000 C That's nearly same as the temperature on the surface of the sun. So its obvious you are going to feel the temperature rising as you go deep underground.
