Why does the Thar desert recieve no or less rain ?

Thar Desert receives no or very less rainfall because of its climatic conditions it has arid climate due to this climate there is very less greenery the presence of Aravalli hills which act as a barrier to the monsoon winds.

This is because of the less no of trees. Trees transpires which helps to bring rain. Since there are very less trees in the desert therefore there is less rain. The presence of Aravalli Hills, which lie parallel to the moisture bearing winds that bring rainfall. High temperature, which causes most of the moisture present in moisture bearing winds to evaporate. Low vegetation cover, due to which precipitation does not occur frequently.
This is also due to rain shadow.
